About Us

Rooted in Purpose. Built for Men.

Fig Tree Renewal Group was founded on a simple belief — that every man, regardless of his background, deserves a real chance to rebuild his life in a safe, structured, and supportive community.

Our Story

Why Fig Tree?

The fig tree is a symbol of resilience and renewal — a tree that can be cut down to its roots and still grow back stronger. That image captures exactly what we believe about the men who come through our doors.

Fig Tree Renewal Group was born out of a recognition that Charlotte, NC needed more than just transitional housing. Men leaving treatment, incarceration, or crisis situations needed a place that combined structure with genuine community — a place that held them accountable while also believing in them.

We welcome men of all backgrounds — every race, every story, every starting point. Recovery does not discriminate, and neither do we.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Dignity

Every man who walks through our doors is treated with respect. We see the person, not just the problem.

Accountability

Growth requires honesty. We hold each other to high standards because we believe in each other's potential.

Community

No man recovers alone. Brotherhood, shared experience, and mutual support are at the core of what we do.

Inclusion

We welcome men of all backgrounds. Diversity of experience makes our community stronger.

Purpose

We help men move beyond survival — toward a life built on meaning, contribution, and independence.

Integrity

We do what we say. Our staff, our rules, and our program are built on transparency and trust.
